|

David A. Rubenstein, FACHE, is a Major General in the U.S. Army.
He also serves as the 2008-2009 Chairman of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of more than 30,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. With comprehensive programs in credentialing, education, career counseling, publications and research, ACHE works toward its goal of being the premier professional society for healthcare leaders by providing exceptional value to its members.
Board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, General Rubenstein was an ACHE Governor from 2002-2006 and the ACHE Regent for the Army—Western Region from 2000 to 2002.
Prior to his current appointment, General Rubenstein was the Commanding General, Europe Medical Command, and Command Surgeon, U.S. Army Europe. He was previously the Army's Assistant Surgeon General for Force Sustainment, the commander of the 30th Medical Brigade and Command Surgeon of the V U.S. Corps in Heidelberg, Germany, the commander (CEO) of Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (Germany) and the 21st Combat Support Hospital in Killeen, Texas, and on deployment to Bosnia and Herzegovina. He served as deputy commander for administration (COO) at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Ga., from 1997 to 1999 and has held positions with Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Wash.; 18th Surgical Hospital, also at Tacoma; and DeWitt Army Community Hospital in Alexandria, Va. Other positions he has held include administrative assistant to the Chief, Medical Service Corps, Office of the Surgeon General, Washington, D.C., and instructor for the Combined Arms Branch and Field Medical Support Branch, Military Science Division, at the Academy of Health Sciences, Fort Sam Houston, in San Antonio. He began his career in 1977 as medical platoon leader in Aschaffenburg, Germany.
General Rubenstein is a member of the American Hospital Association, Association of the United States Army, Association of Military Surgeons of the United States (AMSUS), and Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. He has been awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Order of Military Medical Merit, Ray E. Brown Award from AMSUS, and Federal Excellence in Healthcare Leadership Award, which was presented by ACHE's then District 8. He has twice been named in Modern Healthcare’s list of the 100 most influential people in healthcare.
General Rubenstein received his master’s degree in health administration from Baylor University, Waco, Texas, and his master’s degree in military art and science from Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kan. He received his bachelor’s degree in community health education from Texas A&M University at College Station.

Charles R. Evans, FACHE, is president and CEO, International Health Services Group (IHSG), Alpharetta, Ga.
He also serves as the 2008-2009 Chairman-Elect of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of 30,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. With comprehensive programs in credentialing, education, career counseling, publications and research, ACHE works toward its goal of being the premier professional society for healthcare leaders by providing exceptional value to its members.
Board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, Evans previously served as an ACHE Governor from 2004 to 2007. He has been president and CEO of IHSG since 2007. Evans founded the social enterprise IHSG to support health services development in underserved areas of the world.
Evans serves on numerous boards, including West Virginia Wesleyan College, CSA Health System and MedShare International. In addition, he has served on state hospital association boards in Georgia, Tennessee and Florida. Evans also is clinical assistant professor of Family and Preventive Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and holds an appointment as an adjunct faculty member at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
Before his current position, Evans served as president—Eastern Group of Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). Prior to joining HCA, he served in executive roles at Memorial Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla., and Community Hospitals in Indianapolis. Evans received his MBA from Indiana University School of Business, a master of arts degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and his bachelor’s degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College.

Alyson Pitman Giles, FACHE, is president and chief executive officer of CMC Healthcare System and Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, N.H.
She also serves as the 2008-2009 Immediate Past Chairman of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of 30,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. With comprehensive programs in credentialing, education, career counseling, publications and research, ACHE works toward its goal of being the premier professional society for healthcare leaders by providing exceptional value to its members.
Board certified in healthcare management and an ACHE Fellow, Ms. Giles had been serving as an ACHE Governor since 2004. Prior to that, she was the ACHE Regent for New Hampshire from 1999 to 2003.
Ms. Giles has been president and chief executive officer of CMC Healthcare System since 2002 and president and chief executive officer of Catholic Medical Center since 1999. CMC Healthcare System is the home of the New England Heart Institute, a two-time top-100 heart program, and also includes a 330-bed acute-care hospital, a physician practice subsidiary, a retirement community and an ambulatory surgery partnership with 30 surgeons.
Ms. Giles was named the 2005 Business Leader of the Year by Business NH Magazine and New Hampshire’s Most Remarkable Woman in Healthcare in 2002 by New Hampshire Magazine. She also was named Distinguished Citizen of the Year for 2002 by the Daniel Webster Boy Scout Council. Ms. Giles has served on numerous college, foundation, telecommunications and insurance boards; was chairman of the Bishop’s Charitable Assistance Fund Campaign in 2005; and served in leadership positions for several associations, including president of the New Hampshire Association of Healthcare Executives, director of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, director of the Advisory Board of the University of New Hampshire Manchester, director of the New Hampshire Hospital Association and director of the Northeast Health Care Quality Foundation and many others.
Before her current position, Ms. Giles served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Optima Healthcare. Prior to that, Ms. Giles served as president and chief executive officer of New London Hospital; president and chief executive officer of Lake Shore Hospital in Manchester, N.H.; first vice president for Specialty Services at CMC; and vice president for Clinical Services at the Easter Seal Society for New Hampshire and Vermont in Manchester.
She received her master’s degree in human services administration from Southern New Hampshire University and her bachelor’s degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from Tufts University.

Thomas C. Dolan, PhD, FACHE, CAE, is president and chief executive officer of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of more than 30,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems, and other healthcare organizations. With comprehensive programs in credentialing, education, career counseling, publications, and research, ACHE works toward its goal of being the premier professional society for healthcare leaders by providing exceptional value to its members.
Before his appointment as president and CEO, Dr. Dolan served as ACHE’s executive vice president. Prior to joining ACHE, he held a variety of teaching, research, and administrative positions at St. Louis University, the University of Missouri-Columbia, the University of Washington, and the University of Iowa.
He has served as chair of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration, the Association Forum of Chicagoland, and the Institute for Diversity in Health Management. He has also served as president of the Mental Health Association in Missouri and as a member of the board of trustees of Alexian Brothers Hospital in St. Louis. Dr. Dolan currently serves as chairman of the American Society of Association Executives and is also on the board of the International Hospital Federation.
He is board certified in healthcare management and a Fellow of both the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Society of Association Executives. Dr. Dolan is also a Certified Association Executive. He received his doctorate in hospital and health administration from the University of Iowa and his bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago.
