CAP Application Requirements
Career Accelerator Program applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 5 years management experience, with at least 3 recent years in healthcare management.
- Currently employed by a hospital, health system or other healthcare organization with strong potential for advancing in the organization.
Requirements include:
- A personal statement
- Letter of support from the applicant’s CEO or other senior-level healthcare executive
- Current resume or CV
- Commitment to participate in all program sessions and activities

Personal Statement
CAP Scholars assume a critical role in fulfillment of the Program’s purpose. Please submit a three-part personal statement that responds to the items below, which will exemplify how your professional experiences and perspectives may contribute to advancing the Program’s objectives. Please be specific in your responses, and each response should not exceed 250 words:
- Describe a specific example in your professional career of when you exercised leadership even though you did not have a corresponding formal leadership title or position.
- Describe how your participation in the CAP will further your advancement opportunities within your current organization and/or position you to achieve future career goals.
Letter of Support or Reference
- Letter of Support: A letter between 250–500 words from the applicant’s CEO or senior-level healthcare executive in the organization, highlighting the organization’s plans for developing and advancing the applicant’s role within the organization; OR
- Reference Letter: A letter between 250-500 words from a senior-level healthcare executive who can speak to the applicant’s leadership skills and experiences, highlighting the applicant’s likelihood for advancing in healthcare management.
